Spiritual Gifts Evaluation Guidelines for Set Apart Ministries

In his first letter to the Corinthians, Sha'ul/Paul wrote that we should never let our people be ignorant of their spiritual gifts.

Now, concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astry to idols that could not speak. Therefore, I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, "Let Jesus be cursed" and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit. (NRSV)   I Cor. 12:1-3

David Stern translates it a little differently:

But brothers, I do not want you to go on being ignorant about the things of the Spirit. You know that when you were pagans, no matter how you felt you were being led, you were being led astray to idols, which can't speak at all. Therefore, I want to make it clear to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, "Yeshua is cursed!" and no one can say, "Yeshua is Lord, except by the Ruach Ha Kodesh.  (Complete Jewish Bible) 1 Cor. 12:1-3   (emphasis added )

We agree! We want to help each individual determine what giftings of the Spirit are in them so that we can support and encourage them as needed. We also believe this is the way that our Abba intended for a portion of the Body of Believers to grow and mature; by exercising their gifts!

Barb spent nearly a year researching spiritual gifts assessment programs before teaching the leadership of her former congregation on this subject. At that time, the concept of taking a test, then having others complete it for you was the most comprehensive format. It was suggested that being involved in small group studies was a good way to foster relationships in which your gifts would blossom. It was further made clear that one did really need to be born anew in order to actually have spiritual gifts, cautioning of the need to distinguish between them and natural talents.

She was recently pleased to find a much more comnprehensive approach which is actually based in relationship with our Elohim; much more compatible with our understanding of our Echad Creator. Our suggestion to our members is to observe a combination approach when considering and studying the subject of spiritual gifts. This is one part of our self-study guide and preparation toward receiving a Bar/Bat Mitzvah honor in our community.

Here is a link to an online survey to help you determine more about your spiritual gifts.

Our thanks go to the people at BuildingChurch.net for providing this evaluation tool as a service to others.

It gives immediate results without submission of any personal contact information. We do not believe this survey alone is enough to rightly discern one's own gifts but recommend it as part of a package. We suggest that each person ask two people who know them well to complete the survey about them so that there is a comparison of what is known personally and what is seen by others.

We also further recommend the workbook. "What's So Spiritual About Your Gifts?" for a much more full and personal relational view of spiritual giftings. That workbook is available in our library to borrow and a limited number are available for purchase from us or through www.Amazon.com  (It is being taken out of print).

When you undertake this study of spiritual gifts, we would be very happy to provide support, answer any questions and pray along with you for His clarity and vision!
